Frequently Asked Questions

How is the OBi unique compared to other VoIP devices?
In addition to being able to make and receive calls using a host of VoIP services like Google Voice™, Anveo and Callcentric, the OBi has the unique ability to call other OBi endpoints without the need for a service to set-up the calls. OBi endpoints like the OBi202, OBi100 or OBi110 devices and OBi soft phone applications can call each other for free using a special 9-digit 'OBi No.' and the OBiTALK network, where the only requirement is an active connection to the Internet. This is especially powerful when one (or both) of the ends has an OBi110 configured with a service like that from the local telco or an Internet telephone service. This way, one side can call from an OBi endpoint using the OBiTALK network into an OBi110 with a telephone line connected to the LINE port, and then call out using this line to a regular telephone number, like a mobile phone.
